Trebbiano

Trebbiano is the most widespread white grape in Italy: in Abruzzo it produces Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC, capable of very fine wines when well vinified.

Characteristics and history

Trebbiano is a group of grapes (Trebbiano Abruzzese, Trebbiano Toscano, Trebbiano di Soave, Procanico) among the most widespread in the world. In France it is called Ugni Blanc, the basis of Cognac. Single-varietal Trebbiano d'Abruzzo has great interpreters (e.g. Valentini).
