Friulano (historically called Tocai Friulano until 2007 — the name had to change due to an EU agreement with Hungary over "Tokaji") is the symbolic white grape of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It produces savoury wines of mineral complexity, with a profile of almond, pear, wildflowers and cut hay.
