Gran Tiati an Excellent Red Wine from Daunia

When I taste a producer's wine and I'm particularly impressed by both the product and the philosophy behind it, I can't resist putting it to the test!
So after drinking the Tiati Metodo classico I decided to buy this red wine that had been described to me as an excellent product.
The Gran Tiati is made from Aglianico, Montepulciano and Syrah grapes grown at around 150 metres above sea level.
The grapes are hand-harvested and macerated in stainless steel containers.
Aged in American and French oak barrique, it is then left to rest in the bottle for another six months.
A wine of considerable alcohol content, around 14.5% vol., which pairs well with steaks, roasts and meats prepared with a generous dose of seasoning.

The colour is a beautiful "almost purple" red, the nose is immediately striking, proud and imposing.
If I were to associate it with the first image that comes to mind, I would think of a strong and elegant condottiere on horseback!
Back to the aromas: red fruits, sour cherry, cherry, blueberry, pepper, vanilla, coffee and toastiness.
On the palate it fully meets expectations – this is a wine with a strong and balanced body, with a soft and pleasant flavour and elegant, agreeable tannins.
The skilful use of oak is what I would dwell on: the flavour is not overwhelmed but enriched by the barrique, which lends additional aromas to the wine and enhances its substantial tannins.
The price of this wine ranges between 11 and 15 euros, which is certainly worth spending!
I was confident I could trust it, and so I decided to serve it at the table with some guests who had come to celebrate a fairly important occasion, calling on me with the classic "Give us something good to drink!" – I knew I couldn't go wrong; now you know it too!
Teanum has confirmed my expectations: a winery that knows its craft and brings fine products to light, enhancing the territory and the local grapes with solid management both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
