Strawberry and blueberry white - Contest #StorieDiVino

The sky was clear and the air sparkled with goodness...Nicole would not have allowed anyone, not even the devil, to postpone dinner with Andrè

For days she had been preparing for this encounter.

Thursday afternoon she started with the dress, spinning like a music box ballerina from one display case to another. She already knew what she would wear, size and color, length and fabric. What amused her most, however, on that afternoon, was the soft and resolute trotting of jijì, the fluffy little dog with bows that all the shop assistants had a soft spot for. She seemed to know in advance on which garment "maman nicole's" attention would land. Of all the models available, the one that made that afternoon "the zero moment" was the very last one Nicole had brought to her in the fitting room.

White, silk, and vertiginously long. All her emotions, intentions and desires would be covered by that pure, smooth and sparkling fabric. Everything about her, from the imperceptible movement of the straps – down to the hem of her thoughts – would have intoxicated every inch of the kitchen.

She also carefully chose her sandals, her perfume and her lipstick color.

Friday arrived in the blink of an eye.

Nicole was already getting dressed, the table set to perfection looked like a flowerbed in a French garden.

Small clusters of freesias and white wisteria stood at the center of the table, while the peels of a large orange – scattered on the floor – filled the room with color and gave that certain something of a "lit hearth"

Carefully chosen crystals and porcelain gave that extra touch...

Everything was ready to welcome and fill the evening.

There was the white, the brilliant orange, the blue of the stars and of the river flowing nearby...only Andrè was missing

And the evanescent strawberry red of her thoughts, scattered like confetti inside the bubbles of a "Dolce Carlotta"

That hint of jam, of violets and little roses that tints with ruby the mouth of a dream...
