I was told that FALERNO DEL MASSICO was the wine of the ROMANS' victories.
I don't know how true it is, but the story always makes a great impression!
I always used it to impress whoever I was talking to, but that evening I would need it particularly!
Let's start with the WINE itself, purchased from a local artisan producer in the VARCATURO area – it had a very intense and full-bodied flavor and a decent alcohol content (14-14.5).
The winegrower boasted of having these VITIGNI on SAND, just like the ancient Romans, and of being the only one still producing it that way!
The yield? One BUNCH per VINE!
Its excellent flavor and slightly SWEET finish made it enjoyable for everyone!
That evening, I needed it! It and its story!
I met that girl online – she described herself as a wine lover, especially of reds!
The perfect setting for our PROTAGONIST!
We went out and had a few sips here and there, wine of course!
I noticed her eagerness to keep drinking and decided to take the risk, calling on the help of my faithful companion!
"YOU KNOW I HAVE A SPECIAL BOTTLE OF WINE..." and off I went with the general story of Falerno, followed immediately by the even more fascinating story of the winegrower.
She seemed captivated, just waiting for me to say it!
Why disappoint her???
"SHALL WE TRY IT TOGETHER AT MY PLACE?" followed by "WHY NOT!"
It was done! The wine had given me the first assist!
We started drinking at home and then I'll ask you for a little privacy!
The next day a Facebook status: "THE WINE OF THE ROMANS' VICTORIES..."
We saw each other again – the wine was gone since it was a rarity, so from time to time we drink MOIO 57, a fine FALERNO DEL MASSICO!
Now we're friends, but for us that remains a special evening!
