Carefree Days, Wine and Friendship - Contest #StorieDiVino

Many years have passed, roughly I'd say at least 10, yet it feels like yesterday.

I deeply miss that carefree state of mind of an eighteen-year-old and that way of living with more joy.

What comforts me is having kept certain friendships!

Those were the days of high school, due to conduct deemed inappropriate by some bigot who wasn't even good at their own job, my class was "branded" and we were forbidden from any type of school trip from 3rd year onwards.

Which obviously meant: no 5th-year trip.

No solution but to organize it ourselves!

I had a small house by the sea, the class was very divided so it would have been enough for the hard core!

All guys, united also by a "guest" figure – our dear beloved Business Economics teacher, HE COULDN'T BE MISSING!

Other key characters were my father and his friend Gigino who kept us company playing the guitar, he wasn't very clear-headed so the chords were thrown in there somewhat randomly!!!

We drank Malvasia Bianca all evening, a fantastic wine gifted to us by the neighbor Antonio, never again have I drunk a white wine like it!

A handcrafted product with no label, we had a whole case of it!

There were Giancarlo, Danilo, Guido, Fabio...

We drank and were more or less tipsy... the professor ended up telling dirty jokes! A surreal evening!

At the end of dinner we had only one bottle left chilling, Guido, the one seated most "on the outside" offered to go get it... but we could never have imagined what would happen...

CRASH, SPLASH! A glass bottle broke in the kitchen... we all feared the worst...

Poor Guido came over reassuring us: "Thank goodness it was water!" and we were all relieved!

But the wine? Where was the wine?

I went to look with my friend... shards on the floor and... and I think that's wine!

The contents of the bottle were so clear they actually looked like water... but unfortunately the last bottle was drunk by the floor, shared with the mop!

Guido was mortified... what a shame, we were all disappointed... so we finished the meal with a red...

The professor ended up drunk in bed hugging a teddy bear and we started hitting each other with slippers...

I'd love to go back, but unfortunately you can't...

I'm happy that ten years later, despite our paths having divided, we are still great friends... some in Italy, some in South America, some things cannot be separated!
