The Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG returns to the Venice International Film Festival. For the third consecutive year it is the Official Sparkling Wine of the event, held at the Lido from 2 to 12 September 2026. The programme built around the denomination’s presence covers tastings, dining, contemporary art and film-related initiatives.
Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco returns to the Venice Film Festival
The partnership between the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG Protection Consortium and the Biennale Cinema reaches its third consecutive year in 2026.
The relationship began in 2024 and has been marked each year by a limited-edition consortium bottle. The 2026 edition completes a trilogy of labels created for the Festival.
Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG will also be served at the event’s official moments, including the opening and closing dinners.
Where to taste Prosecco Superiore DOCG at the Lido
During the Festival, Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG will be poured at the Terrazza del Palazzo del Cinema, at the Palazzo del Casinò restaurant and at La Terrazza Biennale.
The last two venues will serve labels from 14 wineries of the denomination: Agostinetto, Andreola, Bisol1574, Bival, Borgo Antico, Bortolomiol, Cantine Maschio, Col Vetoraz, Divigna, Ruggeri, Santa Margherita, Sui Nui, Val d’Oca and Valdo.
The Festival presence therefore involves several producers of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, not a single label.
Red Carpet: Prosecco Superiore DOCG becomes an ingredient
The denomination also reaches the Festival through the cooking of Tino Vettorello, the Treviso chef running the Terrazza Biennale kitchen for the seventeenth year.
For Venice 83 Vettorello has created Red Carpet, a dish designed to pair with Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG. It combines sea bass and strawberries, and uses the wine as an ingredient too.
The Festival menu also features Ostrica in bolla, another dish built around Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG.
Contemporary art and cinema in the Consortium programme
The programme staged for the Festival also includes artistic and cinematic initiatives.
On 3 September the artist Greg Goya presents the participatory installation I Will Always Be Cheering for You at the Lido. The work is a globe made of glass tiles with gilded edges, echoing Murano glassmaking. Visitors can leave a name and a thought dedicated to someone on the piece.
The calendar also includes a tasting lunch aboard the historic vessel Edipo Re, curated by chef Riccardo Canella.
On 6 September, at the Hotel Excelsior, comes the preview of the teaser for the documentary Renato Casaro – Treviso, Rome, Hollywood, devoted to the Treviso-born film poster artist Renato Casaro.
From Venice to the Conegliano Film Festival
The 2026 calendar also brings a new cinema event to the Prosecco Hills. From 2 to 4 October 2026 the first edition of the Mostra del Cinema di Conegliano – Colline del Prosecco will take place.
The event is devoted to cinema, culture and territory, with reference to the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
The two events remain distinct, but in 2026 both bring the Conegliano and Valdobbiadene territory into the story of cinema.
