The Barale family has been documented in Barolo since the 17th century, with the winery founded in 1870 by Francesco Barale and today led by Sergio Barale with his daughters Eleonora and Gloria. It owns historic vineyards in Castellero, Cannubi, Preda and Costa di Rose, producing Barolo Castellero, Bussia and Cannubi. One of the oldest estates in the village of Barolo, it tends 20 hectares of Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Moscato in an artisanal style.
