Founded in 1824 by Prince Giuseppe Alliata, Duca di Salaparuta was among the first Sicilian wineries to export to Europe and the Americas. Now part of the group that also includes Corvo and Florio, it vinifies Nero d'Avola, Grillo, Inzolia and Catarratto from vineyards spread between western Sicily and Mount Etna. Duca Enrico, the first 100% varietal Nero d'Avola, launched the modern era of great Sicilian reds.
