Founded by Francesco Paolo Avallone in the 1960s and today led by his children Salvatore and Maria Ida, Villa Matilde rediscovered and relaunched Falerno del Massico, the legendary wine of ancient Rome celebrated by Pliny, Virgil, Martial and Horace. 130 hectares are under vine across Caserta, Benevento and Avellino, planted to Falanghina, Aglianico, Greco and Fiano. Falerno Rosso Vigna Camarato and Falerno Bianco are its iconic wines.
